Visit Leiper’s Fork

Nestled in Williamson County, there is a little slice of leisure called Leiper’s Fork. It’s a place where time has somehow stood still in this ever-changing age of instagram likes and viral videos.

Leiper’s Fork is just a few miles from the history-rich Natchez Trace Parkway, 10 miles from Downtown Franklin and just under 30 miles from Nashville.

If you’ve never thought about visiting this little gem, we encourage you to make some time to stop or admire from afar (if that’s your only option). Locals call it ‘The Fork’ and it holds a spot in every travelers’ heart who finds themselves staying awhile or stopping in on their way through.

Best Known For:

Relaxing, rural vibe: Many describe Leiper’s Fork as being “easy like Sunday morning.” The residential area of The Fork offers privacy and serenity, boasting winding, tree lined roads and rolling hills, farm animals and Tennessee wildlife. It also happens to be the place that folks like Brad Paisley, Justin Timberlake, Chris Stapleton and more call their home.

Down in Leiper’s Fork Village- the Downtown area of Leiper’s Fork- you’ll find you can grab a homemade meat and three and also hear some of the best guitar pickers in Tennessee – all in the same building (Fox & Locke). If you are in the market for some antique or country-chic barnwood decor, you will be in vintage heaven when you visit. Along with fun decor finds, grab some local pickled veggies, artisan jewelry and vinyl records. We love Serenite Maison and Pick-it Fence, but we guarantee you can find something unique and fun anywhere you choose to shop!

You’ll realize after being there for 5 minutes that this little town is full of creativity and all the positive vibes. A walk down this little main street will provide multiple art galleries, too. We recommend David Arms Gallery where you can walk in and feel like you’re greeted by friends (possibly David Arms himself). The gallery has reasonably priced gifts that would be perfect for that “hard to buy for” someone in your life.

Get a selfie with General Lee, y’all. If you’ve ever seen ‘Dukes of Hazard’ you will recognize the cars that greet you as you drive into the quaint town of Leiper’s Fork. The General Lee & Sheriff’s car replicas are parked right beside a ‘Welcome to Leiper’s Fork’ sign. One year, Bo Duke himself (John Schneider) stopped in and took pictures with people driving through!

Natchez Trace & Nature: You may have heard about this area when researching the historical Natchez Trace Parkway. It’s no wonder people travel from near and far to ride on the historical winding roads of The Natchez Trace Parkway and see waterfalls and bluff overlooks. Cyclists, hikers and locals all love the boundless adventures that lie in wait for the next wanderer to stumble onto. What’s so warm and inviting about this 444 mile track is the true variety it holds for all skill levels. If you have never hiked a day in your life, you can probably still do the ¾ mile one way walk down to Jackson Falls – and if you’re up for more of a challenge check out the Garrison Creek Trail! We can’t talk about this Parkway without mentioning the perfect scenic views you can get just from sitting in your car, windows down with your favorite playlist as a soundtrack to your trip.
