Bioluminescence & Other Kayak Tours

Location
Why We Love It
Departs from The Riverfront Cocoa Beach and takes you along the Banana River. You can choose a guided tour or a day pass to Kayak (or Stand Up Paddle Board, SUP) right from their location on your own.
If you are in town during Bioluminescence season, from June to October we highly suggest a night tour. Seeing the water light up is fascinating.
The tours are wonderful for everyone, adults and kids alike however we wouldn’t recommend it for toddlers/ small children.
Local Tip
There are many tour options however we personally use and recommend The Riverfront. Jake & his team are awesome and they offer our guests a discount of 10% using code SBS10 when you book online (or call in).
Make reservations in advance, wear sunscreen and A LOT of insect repellent!

Cocoa Beach Surf School

Location
Why We Love It
Surfing is a favorite pastime for us – Richard grew up riding the waves while I watched from the beach all through high school. Cocoa Beach Surf School is one of the longest standing surf schools on the beach and are great to take lessons from.
Local Tip
Take the lesson before going it on your own. Though there are spots great for beginners, Cocoa Beach surf is legendary for a reason. 🙂 Jake & his team are awesome and they offer our guests a discount of 10% using code SBS10 when you book online (or call in).

Cocoa Beach Catamaran / Sail Cocoa Beach

Location
Why We Love It
We love Cocoa Beach Catamaran for their dolphin cruises and sunset sails. They are accommodating to everyone and definitely go out of their way for children and families.
Local Tip
Make reservations in advance. They offer our guests a discount when booking online using code Southbound.
They offer multiple sails a day, but only one sunset sail so that is likely to sell out.

Cruise Cocoa Boat Tour

Location
Why We Love It
Cruise Cocoa has 2 locations, the closest to Cocoa Beach is the Lei’d Back boat. It’s a Polynesian tiki inspired vessel and you can BYOB for up to 6 guests! At the Cocoa Beach location they offer dolphin sightseeing tours, sunset tours, bioluminescent tours and private parties. Their tours are all family- friendly! Captain Ritche gave us a code for our guests which is SBS25. Enter it at checkout and it’s good for 25% off the ticket price!
Local Tip
We always suggest booking well in advance! For those traveling with their dogs …. If you book a private tour, you can even bring Fido! (Of course, service dogs are always welcome).

Local Lines Fishing Guide Service (Kayak & Boat Fishing Tours)

Why We Love It
We love Captain Alex and if you’re wanting a guided fishing tour- he’s your guy! He offers tours by either kayak or boat and options within our lagoons, off the Port, near the coast or offshore.
Local Tip
Be sure to check out the monthly availability chart on his website (under booking) as he provides a ranking for when you have the best chance at catching what you’re after. 🙂

Splash Pad @ Canaveral City Park
Location
Why We Love It
Canaveral City Park has a great splash pad and playground, located right by the Cape Canaveral Community Center.
Local Tip
Great for smaller children when the surf is too choppy at the beach and a nice break from sand. 🙂

Cocoa Beach Jet Ski Rental

Location
Why We Love It
Some of us aren’t coordinated enough to surf (that’d be me), jet skis (or wave runners) are a fun way to enjoy the waves.
Local Tip
Save time before you rent by taking the temporary boater license class online (it’s fast and easy).

Indian River Queen Lunch or Dinner Cruise

Location
Why We Love It
Instead of waterfront dining, this is on the water dining! A great way to explore the “other” body of water on the Space Coast, one of our rivers while enjoying relaxing dinner and drinks. Though public cruises are typically only once a month (one dinner option & one lunch option) they also do them for special occasions like launches, holidays, etc.
Local Tip
Since public cruises are limited, reserve seats well in advance.
