The sun is out, the beers are cold and Nashville is full of life in June. Whether you’re here for a quick weekend trip or your staying awhile, we will let you in on the best events and happenings going down in Music City in one of our sunniest months. Be prepared to dance until the bar closes, sing along with your favorite country artists and enjoy some nature this month in Nashville.
June 1st, it’s a Saturday night and Funky Good Time is holding their monthly music & dance party at The 5 Spot. It’s been said that this is the single most enjoyable monthly party in town, where locals come and hear an infusion of dance and soul music. Let us be clear, this isn’t your normal “party vibe” – the night is built on classy & casual, you can dance if you’d like, you can hang at the bar and check out the drink specials or go out onto the patio and have a deep conversation with your closest friend (or the closest person in your vicinity). Like their name suggests, Funky Good Time is sure to be one.
If you aren’t aware, CMA Fest happens to fall in June. If you are visiting specifically for CMA Fest, take a look at our in depth insiders Guide here where we let you in on some CMA Fest secrets as well as tips on how to beat that Tennessee heat. This 4 day slice of country heaven takes place downtown and the festivities are endless. Whether you’re looking for local songwriters or the biggest names in the business, you’ll be able to catch them all in venues up and down Broadway. Some of our favorite artists playing include Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, Ashley McBride and a new band we hadn’t heard of before called, Gone West. Gone West is fronted by Colbie Caillat and features some of the best 4 part harmonies you’re likely to ever hear, check them out here – we think you’ll be impressed.
Are you ready to show off your new bathing suit and shades? This is the best time of year to head over to Percy Priest Lake and rent a pontoon boat. As the song suggests, you can be making waves and catching rays up on the roof just like Little Big Town. Most of the pontoons you can rent are equipped with slides, yes you heard us right. Head over to Safe Harbor Marina to check out your options! It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention “Party Cove” – where strangers are cool with you hooking up to their yachts and eating off their grill while everyone plays beer pong on a rooftop. We recommend bringing floats shaped like your favorite animal or food and just lounging in the water. Grab a couple of friends, pack some snacks and don’t forget your sunscreen, it’s time to spend the day on the lake.
PS- If the lake is less your thing but you’re still looking to indulge in some sunshine and water, you can kick back and relax at the pool at our Nashville studios !
